We announced today the completion of the final 15 energy-efficient, single-family homes in Vista Montana Estates. The gated subdivision located on Wilmot Road, south of I-10 and within the top-rated Vail School District. SALT, in conjunction with Pima County, is wrapping up this exciting affordable homeownership program for qualified buyers in early 2020. This limited, unique homeownership program offers qualified buyers up to $33,000 or more in down payment assistance for a 4 bedroom/2.5 bath single-family home.
“SALT is in the business of providing Safe Affordable Living in Tucson,” said Jeff Singleton, executive director of SALT. “This unique homebuyer program offers qualified buyers the resources and support to build personal wealth through the purchase of a beautiful newly constructed home.”
“My wife and I are rebuilding our credit and wouldn’t have qualified for a conventional loan. The SALT program made the whole home purchase possible for us and our six children,” said Nick Seymour, first-time homebuyer. “They went through all the numbers many times and explained everything very clearly so that there were no surprises and we could be sure it was something we could afford and manage.”
Some program details include:
- Buyer’s household income must not exceed 120% Pima County’s Area Median Income (AMI)
- Only $1,000 required from buyer as down payment
- Must be buyer’s primary residence
- Buyer(s) must obtain financing through SALT’s preferred lenders
Vista Montana Estates is just one of the projects that SALT manages. SALT specializes in affordable rental units and has constructed or acquired and rehabilitated over 180 homes for its affordable rental portfolio.
